Based in Lubbock, Texas, Kevin Love is the owner and craftsman behind Stretch Customs, specializing in the restoration and customization of some of the most iconic Peterbilt trucks ever built — the 359, 379, 389 and 352.

For Kevin, trucking is more than a business. It’s in his blood.

KEVIN LOVE

Growing up, Kevin watched his dad, Wayne Love, make a living behind the wheel. He eventually followed in his father's footsteps and became a trucker himself. But somewhere along the way, Kevin discovered that what fascinated him most wasn't just driving the truck — it was what was happening under the hood and all the details that could turn a truck into something extraordinary.

There was also someone else who played an important role in shaping Kevin's path.

Early on, while Kevin was working in the concrete business, he met Barry, a man who took him under his wing and spent time teaching him about welding, fabrication and trucks. Barry recognized Kevin's interest and gave him an early foundation in the hands-on skills that would eventually become such a major part of his life.

Kevin still gives Barry a great deal of credit for the craftsman he is today. The lessons weren't just about how to weld or work on a truck — they helped shape the way Kevin approaches the work itself.

From there, Kevin kept learning.

Largely self-taught through years of hands-on experience, trial and error, problem-solving and an endless desire to understand how things worked, Kevin developed his own unmistakable approach to the craft. He learned by turning wrenches, tearing things apart, rebuilding them and constantly asking himself how he could make something better.

That mentality eventually became Stretch Customs.

Known for being incredibly particular, Kevin has an uncompromising eye for detail and a standard of craftsmanship that is second to none. Every line, every weld, every finish and every component matters. If something isn’t right, it isn’t finished.

That relentless standard has earned Stretch Customs a loyal and growing following far beyond Lubbock and West Texas. Kevin's builds have become known for true craftsmanship, individuality and a level of detail that makes each one unmistakably one of a kind.

But Kevin will also be the first to tell you that Stretch Customs wasn't built by one person alone.

Along the way, people like Chris, Stephane and Brett have been instrumental in helping Stretch Customs become what it is today. Their talent, hard work, knowledge and belief in what Kevin was building have all left their mark on the company. Kevin has tremendous respect for the people who have stood beside him, shared their knowledge, put in the hours and helped turn a passion for trucks into the Stretch Customs name.

For Kevin, that's an important part of the story. You never forget where you came from, who taught you, or who helped you along the way.

Restoration isn't simply about bringing an old truck back to life. It's about respecting the history of these legendary machines while giving each one its own identity. Every build combines old-school craftsmanship, creativity, mechanical knowledge and meticulous attention to detail.

From his dad putting a love of trucking in his blood, to Barry putting a welder in his hands and helping teach him the craft, to the countless hours Kevin spent teaching himself everything else along the way — Stretch Customs was built on a lifetime of learning, hard work and a genuine love for trucks.

That same respect for where he came from can be seen in every truck that rolls through the doors at Stretch Customs.

And when Kevin takes an idea further than anyone thought necessary and someone asks why?
